However, due to the growing concerns within the community about the WEMIX$ depegging, which were interrelated with the recent PLAY Bridge issue, we decided to provide a status update on WEMIX$. Prerequisite for WEMIX$ Issue Resolution In order to address the WEMIX$ depegging, it is essential to establish an environment where reliable stablecoins can flow into the WEMIX 3.0 mainnet. Given that the fundamental causes of the WEMIX$ depegging arose from an issue with an external bridge service connecting the WEMIX chain to other chains, introducing a stable and secure bridge service became a key element. We determined that Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) was the most suitable solution, and discussions with the Chainlink team began around mid-2024 to securely bridge USDC, a stablecoin on Ethereum, by integrating WEMIX 3.0 chain to the CCIP. Finalizing Preparations Although the consultation process took longer than expected, most of the preliminary preparations have now been completed through the collaboration between both teams, with only a few practical procedures and development processes remaining. Once all preparations are finalized, we will begin to take follow-up actions to resolve the situation. We expect that these efforts will address the concerns of both the community and the WEMIX$ holders. We would like to apologize once again for not fully understanding the frustration of the community and holders, and for not providing timely updates on our progress. This recent liquidation proceeded according to the predefined process. However, it was identified that the volatility of a small liquidity size of MLP significantly influenced the WEMIX$ price during the oracle’s validation process. [Relief] • Liquidations in lending services constitute a potential risk factor, and it is customary that no separate preservative measure is provided for liquidated collateral assets. The WEMIX Foundation has been continuously striving to achieve a deflationary token economy by implementing various burn policies through the WEMIX Burn program, balancing the issuance and burning of WEMIX. To ensure the stable growth of the ecosystem, a total of six Mass Burns were conducted to burn a large amount of WEMIX held by the Foundation. Meanwhile, a portion of the Foundation’s investment income was redistributed to the community and the market through Batch Burns. Moreover, WEMIX was purchased and burned to further stabilize the ecosystem. Additionally, Auto Burns expanded the burn volume in line with the growth of the WEMIX3.0 mainnet and platform, burning network fees based on the WEMIX3.0 fee structure and continuously burning 25% of WEMIX platform income (with 25% of 2024 platform income allocated to Batch Burn). With the implementation of the Brioche Hard Fork on July 1st, a fundamental change in tokenomics took place by burning 435 million (40% of total issuance) WEMIX held by the Foundation and applying a halving mechanism to block minting, significantly restricting additional supply. This decision reflects the genuine commitment of the WEMIX Foundation and Team to supporting and benefiting the ecosystem participants. The approach was not aimed at short-term effects but rather focused on creating a long-term impact through a substantial reduction in supply and a significant decrease in circulation to build a robust ecosystem. The WEMIX Team believes that both controlling both supply and circulation and ensuring the sustainable growth of the WEMIX ecosystem align with the collective interests of its participants. After thorough deliberation, it has been decided to discontinue the WEMIX Burn program to achieve this endeavor.
